We started activity based neurological rehabilitation for patients with spinal cord injury and stroke in 2006 which has been a paradigm shift from the common compensatory approach in physiotherapy. The past 16 years of experience and studies in advanced rehabilitation has shown, that neuroplasticity is an ongoing process, which can be reinstated with minimum 3 hours training 3 times a week. Neuroscience has shown the evidence that neuroplasticity is activity-based and need-driven. The principles of neuroplasticity among others are „use it or lose it”, „use it and improve it”, repetition matters”, specificity matters”, and „time matters”. Our goal is to promote functions after damage of the central nervous system with Bobath and PNF based neurorehabilitation with functional approach to rebuild the loss of muscle strength and function, therefore to improve the person’s independence and quality of life.
